A family farm legacy over three generations
Our story starts with the wisdom and experience handed down from our parents, Mark and Pat, and our grandparents Frank and Janet. The generations before us taught the value of maintaining a healthy marriage relationship and working hard to provide for one another while giving back to the community. We both were given the opportunity to work away from the farm before recognizing the value of raising our families on the farm, leading us both to make the decision to come back to Spartan Farms located in Sparta, MI.
The family farm legacy continues where we currently milk approximately 240 cows, finish 120 Holstein-Angus steers annually, and farm 1200 acres of corn, alfalfa, and wheat. As farmers, we understand the need to adapt and change to volatile markets and the benefit of adopting new technologies that fit our farm’s situation.
With new technologies emerging, it can be difficult to recognize which would be most effective in each unique situation. Due to the wisdom passed down from previous generations and our combined experience both on and off the farm, we feel that we are strongly positioned to serve our neighbors by selecting the most effective technologies to implement on their farm.
Out of this experience, Spot On Agricultural Services was created in 2024. We are an innovative agtech service company providing assistance with authorized dealerships for Earth Optics and Green Lightning. In addition, we are launching a custom application drone service. Our mission is to help provide exceptional service for our neighbors and beyond.

Kyle Vanderhyde
Co-Founder
Kyle, alongside his brother Matt, is a third-generation farmer who brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of farming operations to Spot On Ag Services. Growing up on the family farm instilled in Kyle a deep respect for the agricultural community. This upbringing fostered a passion for sustainable practices and a drive to help other farmers build resilient businesses that can thrive for generations.
Kyle’s hands-on experience encompasses all aspects of farm life, from raising animals and cultivating crops to navigating the ever-evolving agricultural landscape. His expertise is a valuable asset to Spot On Ag Services as they empower farmers to achieve long-term success.
When Kyle isn’t working the land or supporting fellow farmers, you’ll find him in Sparta, MI with his wife Jenna and their six children.
Matt Vanderhyde
Co-Founder
Matt, together with his brother Kyle, represents the third generation of his family in the farming industry. He brings a unique blend of business development and a forward-thinking approach to Spot On Ag Services. Matt possesses a genuine passion for progress and innovation in the agricultural industry. This drive to find better solutions fuels his desire to help farmers not just survive, but thrive, in the face of evolving challenges.
Matt’s hands-on experience on the farm has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of agricultural operations.. His expertise is instrumental in Spot On Ag Services’ mission to empower farmers with the tools and knowledge they need to achieve long-term success.
Outside of the world of farming, you’ll find Matt in Sparta, MI with his wife Sarah and four kids.
